Please note that you will be billed $25 if the truck cannot empty your container. Make sure that your container is accessible to the collection truck.


Normally, containers are emptied within 48 hours after a request is submitted. However, Gatineau is not committed to meeting this timeline, and cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience to the requester if it takes longer.

SECTION D – Conditions and undertaking

  • Trash containers must be accessible at all times. If they are not accessible on the additional collection day, you will be billed $25 for the collector’s expenses. Containers will not be moved manually by the trash collectors or drivers.
  • Snow must be cleared to ensure that the containers are accessible.
  • Containers must be kept clean and dry, and covers must remain closed and accessible at all times.
  • Containers will not be emptied if they contain bulky items.
  • Items left next to the container will not be collected.
