Green residues are collected every week, year-round, in the same truck as other compostable materials. Just place them in the brown bin. Any surplus should be placed in biodegradable paper bags or bins clearly identified with a V (for vert). Biodegradable paper bags are sold in hardware stores. Plastic bags are prohibited.
Grass clippings should be left to dry on the lawn as they are an excellent pesticide-free natural fertilizer! As for tree branches:
Branches and twigs must be no more than 12 mm in diameter and 1.5 m in length for the compostable materials collection.
Branches that are more than 12 mm in diameter but less than 7.5 cm will be accepted at the ecocentre and will be collected with household garbage. If they are placed with the household garbage, they must be tied into bundles weighing no more than 25 kg.
Any branches or logs larger than 7.5 cm in diameter must be taken to the ecocentre or the waste transfer centre because they will not be collected with household garbage.
