You can still sign up on the waiting list for Component I (residential renovation for low income households) and Component II (residential renovations). Requests will be processed until the yearly budget is exhausted.
Component 1: Residential renovations for low income households
Eligibility criteria
Single-family, owner-occupied building that was built before January 1, 1979.
The value of the building on the assessment roll must not exceed $100,000 at the time of application.
Total household income must be less than $37,500 according to the last notice of assessment issued by the Government of Quebec or the Government of Canada.
Work involved in repairing major defects.
Mobile homes under certain conditions.
Subsidy
Subsidies can cover as much as 90% of the total cost of eligible work, up to $10,000 per building.
Building with at least one dwelling, built before January 1, 1975 and located in a designated zone (revitalization or prevention).
Single family building valued at no more than $100,000 according to the assessment roll in effect at the time of application, except for a building with a recognized heritage status.
Complete reconstruction of a dwelling to repair major defects that affect structural integrity and cleanliness, or the safety of occupants. Ongoing maintenance work is not eligible.
Subsidy
The subsidy is equivalent to 65% of the total cost of eligible works, ranging from $4,000 to $10,000 per building, depending on the number of bedrooms, up to a maximum of $20,000 per building and up to a maximum of $30,000 per building when the building is located downtown.
New free standing dwelling located in a revitalization zone.
The construction of a building or part of a building whose total gross habitable surface area per dwelling averages 75 m2.
Subsidy
$10,000 per dwelling, up to a maximum of $30,000 per building.
If the building is in the sector that is subject to the special planning program (PPU) for the downtown, the subsidy rises to $2,500 per dwelling, up to a maximum of $50,000 per building.
In addition, a building that is eligible for LEED or Novoclimat certification will be given priority.
New single family, duplex, triplex or condominium dwelling (between 2 and 6 dwellings) located in a revitalization zone.
The applicant must sign a notarized act promising to designate one or more dwellings in the eligible building as his or her main residence for at least 36 months from the date of acquisition.
Subsidy
$5,000 per building.
La subvention est bonifiée de 2 500 $ pour les bâtiments situés dans le secteur assujetti au PPU du centre-ville.
De plus, la subvention est majorée de 2 500 $ lorsqu'il y a la présence d'au moins un enfant de 12 ans et moins et résidant en permanence avec le ménage du requérant.
What conditions must you meet if you get a subsidy?
The owner must have the work carried out by a contractor holding a valid licence from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec.
No major defects regarding integrity, cleanliness or the safety of occupants should be found upon final inspection of a building on which work has been done under any of the program components.
Administration fees will be required.
The building will be inspected by Ville de Gatineau to ensure that the work is eligible. This condition does not apply to new residential construction.
