Available at the Gatineau public library service points, the Accès Gatineau card is good for one year. The card comes in two versions, and is designed to fit your needs:

  • Access to the library's services
    more than 650,000 documents: online encyclopedias, bestsellers, comics, DVDs, periodicals and many more

  • Access to registration by phone or online
    you must have an Accès Gatineau card to use our registration systems (phone or online). Check out the wide range of cultural and recreational activities organized by Gatineau and its partner agencies!

Three free visits a year to the ecocentre

NEW: Access limited to Gatineau residents aged 18 and over with an Accès Gatineau + card.

The ecocentre, open Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturdays from April to October, is a place where you can get rid of certain residual materials in an environmentally friendly manner.

1 Income security beneficiaries get the card for free upon presentation of their claim booklet.
2 Individuals whose annual income is under $40,000 should have their provincial or federal notice of assessment on hand.
3 Upon presentation of a part-time or full-time student card.

To get an Accès Gatineau card

Go to one of the Gatineau public library service points, with valid ID and proof of residence.

To renew a subscription, you must have your Accès Gatineau card in hand. Also, you must confirm your address by providing proof of residence and pay off any balance showing on your record.

  • Canadian citizenship card
  • Permanent resident card
  • Aboriginal status card
  • Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO) card
  • Canadian Forces ID card
  • Birth certificate (babies only)
  • Baptism certificate (babies only)

Acceptable proof of residence

  • Driver's licence
  • Recent telephone, electricity, gas or other bill (issued within the last three months)
  • Notice of school or municipal taxes (the latest one)
  • Recent bank account or credit card statement (issued within the last three months)
  • Lease, real estate transaction contract, mortgage agreement or insurance policy (within the last year)
  • School report card or official correspondence from an educational institution (current session)
  • Copy of an electronic student record
  • Student card with address
  • Cheque or employer's pay stub
  • Income tax notice of assessment or T4 statement (the latest one)
  • Any other official government document

Note: Hospital cards are not accepted as proof of residence.
