Gatineau does not collect recyclables and compostables from the industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) sector, except for schools, certain institutions and small businesses.
If your business has curbside collection of household garbage and generates six or fewer items per collection (every two weeks), you may be eligible for the municipal residual materials management service. Contact us at 311 or submit a request.
If you are a not-for-profit organization involved in recovery or valorization, you may qualify for a reduced rate at the ecocentres and the waste transfer centre in Gatineau. Call 311 or submit a request.
The Government of Quebec's ICI ON RECYCLE! Program provides tools and visibility for ICIs that are committed to practicing responsible residual materials management, and thereby help protect the environment.
The program is available to ICIs of every size in every activity sector that want to improve their environmental performance through integrated residual materials management.
ÉBEC works with the Regroupement national des Conseils régionaux de l'environnement du Québec (RNCREQ) and the Conseils régionaux de l'environnement (CRE) across Quebec on promoting ICI ON RECYCLE! and responsible residual materials management by ICIs. CREDDO is the name of the organization in charge of promoting the program in the Outaouais.
If you have a sustainable residual materials management project, find out about Gatineau's Green Fund financial support program and the Fonds Éco IGA.
