Filing a false police report is considered a crime (misdemeanor public reference section 140 of the Criminal Code).

You can use this service to report to the police online without having to go to a police station. If the event occurred outside Gatineau city limits, or the suspect is known, you must go to a Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau station to report your complaint.

Submit a report online

Once your report has been submitted online, you will be assigned a temporary reference number. It will then be reviewed by a police officer, and you will be contacted if additional information is required. If your police report is approved, you will receive an official file number. You will then be able to obtain an official copy of your report.
