July 1, 1855

The townships of Hull, Templeton and Buckingham, as well as the villages of Aylmer and Buckingham are formed in the first municipal designations in Quebec.

February 23, 1875

The city of Hull splits off from the township of Hull.

1876

The village of Pointe-à-Gatineau splits off from Templeton.

1877

The parish of L'Ange-Gardien splits off from the township of Buckingham.

1880

The township of Hull is split up to form the townships of South Hull and West Hull.

1886

The township of Templeton is split up to form the townships of Templeton West and Templeton East.

1889

The township of East Hull splits off from West Hull.

1890

The village of Buckingham becomes a city.

1897

The city of Masson splits off from the township of Buckingham.

March 23, 1897

The township of Buckingham South East splits off from the township of Buckingham.

The township of Templeton North splits off from Templeton East.

1915

The village of Angers splits off from L'Ange-Gardien.

1918

The township of Buckingham South West splits off from the township of Buckingham.

1920

The village of Deschênes splits off from South Hull.
The village of Templeton and the township of the east part of Templeton East split off from Templeton East.

1933

The village of Gatineau splits off from Templeton West.

1957

Pointe-à-Gatineau becomes the city of Pointe-Gatineau.
Gatineau becomes a city.

1964

South Hull changes its name to the municipality of Lucerne.

1971

East Hull changes its name to the city of Touraine.

1975

Hull becomes a city.
The cities of Pointe-Gatineau, Gatineau and Touraine, the townships of Templeton West, Templeton East and the east part of Templeton East, as well as the village of Templeton merge to form the city of Gatineau.
The cities of Buckingham and Masson, the municipality of Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette, the townships of Buckingham, Buckingham South East and Buckingham South West, the parish of L'Ange-Gardien and the village of Angers merge to form the city of Buckingham.

January 1, 1975

Aylmer, Lucerne and Deschênes merge to form the city of Aylmer.

May 17, 1979

In response to public pressure, the city of Masson and the municipalities of L'Ange-Gardien and Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette split off from Buckingham.

January 1, 1989

The municipality of Cantley splits off from Gatineau.

1993

Masson changes its name to city of Masson-Angers.

2000

Bicentennial of the city of Hull, with celebrations lasting 12 months.

January 1, 2002

The cities of Aylmer, Buckingham, Gatineau, Hull and Masson-Angers (as well as the Outaouais urban community) merge to form the city of Gatineau.

1er janvier 2012

The city of Gatineau celebrates its tenth birthday.
