Galerie Montcalm (Visual arts, fine art)

Located on the first floor of Maison du Citoyen (Gatineau city hall), the Galerie Montcalm is a museum institution recognized by the Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communications. Since opening in 1980, it has been a member of the Société des musées québécois and the Canadian Museums Association.

The annual program includes six exhibitions in a wide variety of art styles. Located in the heart of downtown Gatineau, a stone's throw from the Canadian Museum of History and downtown Ottawa, the Galerie is a prime showcase for regional, national and international professional artists. It also offers collective and interdisciplinary thematic exhibitions designed to broaden our understanding and appreciation of the visual arts. In addition, the Galerie provides a number of activities inspired by its exhibitions, including educational workshops tailored to school groups.

The Galerie is open year-round, and admission is free. Full access for people with reduced mobility. Restaurants nearby.

Espace Pierre-Debain (Arts and crafts)

Located on the ground floor of the Centre culturel du Vieux-Aylmer, in the heart of the Aylmer heritage neighbourhood in the Ville de Gatineau, the Espace Pierre-Debain opened its doors in 2002. This intimate space is a prime showcase for regional, national and international professional craftspeople.  The Espace presents six temporary exhibitions annually, aimed at promoting the dissemination of works by creative artisans and developing public interest in all forms of creative expression associated with the field of crafts.
