Temporary and preventive closure of the Frank-Robinson and Paul-et-Isabelle Duchesnay arenas – Confirmation of one COVID-19 case

Gatineau, October 11, 2020. – Gatineau has confirmed that one employee at the Frank-Robinson and Paul-et-Isabelle-Duchesnay arenas tested positive for COVID-19 on October 11, 2020.

As soon as it was informed, Gatineau opted for a prudent approach by applying preventive measures in accordance with the recommendations of the Direction de la santé publique de l'Outaouais. Consequently, that employee is now in isolation.

As a preventive measure, Gatineau is temporarily closing the Frank-Robinson and Paul-et-Isabelle-Duchesnay arenas in the Aylmer sector for the day.


Quick facts

Activities at the Frank-Robinson and Paul-et-Isabelle-Duchesnay arenas will resume tomorrow morning as originally scheduled.
-This closure is necessary in order to disinfect the facilities.
-The City has contacted today's users to inform them.
The person who tested positive for COVID-19 last worked at the arenas on October 2, 2020.
As you know, Gatineau has taken and followed a series of measures to reduce the risks of propagation:
- physical distancing between employees and the public;
- masks worn by employees at all times;
- facilities cleaned at least two to three times a day; and
- questionnaire filled out by employees every day to track their health status.
Gatineau is working in collaboration with its health partners and constantly monitoring the situation.
As recommended by the Government of Quebec, anyone with symptoms or questions about COVID-19 is asked to call 1-877-644-4545.
