Accepted methods of payment are: cash, debit card, Visa and Mastercard.
You may download, print and complete the Application for a general permit for winter overnight parking in order to accelerate the process when you arrive at any service centres or at the Division du stationnement.
In order to purchase a general winter overnight parking permit, residents require a driver's licence indicating a residence in Gatineau.
With this permit, a resident can park anywhere in Gatineau where parking is permitted, with the exception of certain identified streets*. Permits are transferable between cars.
When does the general winter overnight parking permit become valid? The general winter overnight parking permit is valid from December 1 to April 1.
The director of the Service des travaux publics may delay the parking ban until after December 1 if conditions so warrant. The parking ban, which applies to anyone who does not have a permit, comes into effect 24 hours after the official order is issued by the director.
The director may also order that the parking ban be lifted before April 1 if conditions so warrant.
Parking ban notices will be issued as soon as Environment Canada forecasts 5 to 10 centimetres or more of snow for the Gatineau-Ottawa region.
Once issued, the parking ban applies to everyone, including general winter overnight parking permit holders and others*. This means no on-street parking from midnight to 6 a.m. Monday to Friday, and from 3 to 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, until the ban is lifted.
Please note that specific permits are only available from Section Stationnement (775 de la Carrière, Suite 200)
