The Snowflake Kingdom is sheer magic!

Gatineau, December 13, 2018. – From February 1 to 18, 2019, kids of all ages will get to experience the magic of winter at Winterlude's Snowflake Kingdom! Remember that admission to this tremendously popular family event is free for everyone!

At a glance

The Snowflake Kingdom will welcome families to Jacques-Cartier Park, back at its usual location. Last year, the Snowflake Kingdom was temporarily moved to the northern tip of Jacques-Cartier Park to make room for Mosaïvernales.
Daniel Coutu, a highly popular magician among young families, will return as the spokesperson for the Snowflake Kingdom.

Snowflake Kingdom classics

The Kingdom's famous slides will be back! Regular visitors will be happy to find the Iceberg, the Glacier and the Chinook, with a combined total of 15 sliding corridors.
There will be magnificent sculptures reflecting the theme of magic. Some of them will be made the day of the opening, giving guests a chance to watch the creations take shape.
Children aged 5 to 8 will have a chance to be introduced to downhill skiing and snowboarding.
Giant versions of some local favourite board games will be set up in the Zone Bouts de chou. These will include table soccer, snakes and ladders, Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect 4, and many more.
Everyone will get to have fun on the obstacles courses.
There will be shows and buskers throughout the site.
And of course, the Ice Hog family will be on hand! Mama, Papa, Noumi and Nouma will settle in, with hugs for everyone!
Visitors will be able to warm up around the wood stoves spread around the site.

New this year

The zip line will be back after skipping a year. Thrill-seekers will get to fly over a part of the Snowflake Kingdom site. Please note that there is a charge for this activity.
La course des tuques will take place on February 16 and 17, giving youngsters a chance to play with their favourite characters from La course des tuques and Les Mini-Tuques.

Quote

“The Snowflake Kingdom is one of the top winter events for Gatineau and Ottawa families and visitors from the surrounding areas. The slides may well be the most popular attraction, but there are lots of other activities and several shows. Every detail is carefully thought out to offer visitors a most magical winter experience!” indicated Municipal Councillor Pierre Lanthier, representing the Mayor of Gatineau.
