Donated by the Slovak Republic to the former city of Hull. The inauguration on September 5, 2000 to mark the National Day (September 1) Constitution Day of Slovakia (September 1) was attended by His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Miroslav Mikolášik and Mayor Yves Ducharme.
Recognized for its quality of life, Gatineau is a city of 292,000 inhabitants. It is located on the north shore of the Ottawa River, and extends east and west of the Gatineau River.
