If you are asked to evacuate or if your safety is in jeopardy

  • Immediately leave the premises.
  • Follow the instructions issued by the authorities.
  • If you are asked to do so, turn off your water and electricity.
  • Turn off the gas only if you are instructed to do so because only the gas company can turn it back on, which could take some time.
  • Take your emergency kit and medications with you.
  • Find a safe place for your pets. Remember that they are not allowed into municipal shelters.
  • Lock the doors to your home.
  • Take the route indicated by the authorities.
  • Let the municipal authorities know where you can be reached if you decide not to go to the municipal shelter.
  • If you don't have any means of transportation, go to one of the assembly points indicated by the authorities.
