Hours of operation at the Victims assistance centre operated by the Red Cross:

  • Monday – closed
  • Tuesday – from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
  • Wednesday - from Noon until 8 pm
  • Thursday –from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
  • Closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Municipal employees are on site to welcome the flood victims and to direct them towards the appropriate services.

In regard to pets:

  • if possible, pets should be relocated with families, friends or in shelters; but
  • if not, Gatineau will assess needs on a case-by-case basis.

Red Cross

Flood victims who are in need of emergency shelter or support should go to one of the victims assistance centers between 8 a.m. and midnight. Victims can also register online at www.redcross.ca ou by phone at 1 800 863-6582.

Services offerred by the Red Cross:

  • housing,
  • food,
  • subsistence costs and,
  • if necessary, clothing.

Psychological support

You can call 811, option 2, at any time for psychosocial support. Info-Social 811 is a free and confidential phone consultation service provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
