Gatineau has more than 100 school crossing guards. They supervise school children at intersections on the way to and from school, in order to prevent traffic accidents.
In addition to ensuring the safety of school children, the crossing guards teach them about safety rules. They usually work at 3 times during the day: morning, lunchtime and at the end of classes in the afternoon.
