Our day camps are run by a team of more than 400 qualified staff.

Quality care in a safe environment is one of the priorities of Ville de Gatineau day camps. Our team members attend a number of mandatory training sessions.

Facilitators and coordinators

First aid (Lifesaving Society): 8 hours

Basic camp facilitator training: 10 hours

DAFA* (and pre-camp): 40 hours

Coordination team

Risk management: 3 hours

Management basics and efficient supervision: 10 hours

Human resource management: 3 hours

Day camp preparations: 40 hours

DAFA (diplôme d'aptitude aux fonctions d'animateur)

Since the summer of 2014, Ville de Gatineau day camp staff have been trained and certified under the DAFA camp facilitator training program.
