Residents can help ensure that the operations run smoothly by clearing any obstacles off the street:
Place your garbage and recycling bins just inside your property line.
Avoid dumping snow on any public road, sidewalk, recreational pathway, fire hydrant or public place or property without the owner's consent, and if appropriate instruct your contractor to do the same.
Be prudent and avoid playing on snow banks or building snow structures near the street.
Avoid parking on the street until it has been cleared.
Follow the by-laws on winter overnight parking, as well as any temporary signs. If you have a general permit, keep your car off the street during snow-clearing operations while the no parking advisory is in effect as a result of an Environment Canada forecast accumulation of 5 to 10 centimetres or more.
