Once the snow has been cleared away, graders pass through the streets to widen them and improve visibility and make for safer driving.
Please note that any municipality can blow the snow onto private properties next to public roads. (Loi sur les compétences municipales, chapitre C-47-1, article 69)
Temporary no-parking signs are set out approximately 24 hours before the snow-clearing operations begin.
Blowing snow is safest in the narrower streets. Once the snow-clearing operations are finished, the temporary no-parking signs are removed.
The owners of vehicles parked in no-parking zones will receive a ticket and, if necessary, their vehicles will be towed.
