Ville de Gatineau is currently accepting plans for the construction of social and community housing. Approved projects will receive financial assistance covering up to 15% of eligible costs under the AccèsLogis Québec program, which is now run by Ville de Gatineau.
This financial assistance program introduced by the Société d'habitation du Québec (SHQ) promotes the coordination of public, community and private resources to foster the construction of social and community housing for low- and moderate-income households, as well as for special needs clients in difficulty. Gatineau has developed a guide to help it select the best projects in a rigorous and transparent manner, the Guide de gestion pour la sélection des projets de Logements sociaux et communautaires (in French only). The guide contains the principles that Gatineau plans to apply in selecting the housing projects that meet the AccèsLogis Québec program criteria and that will help make our community welcoming and inclusive.
