Preventive Boil Water Advisory in a Portion of the Hull Sector
Gatineau, September 17, 2025 – Ville de Gatineau has issued a preventive boil water advisory for a portion of the Hull sector. The affected area includes both sides of Laurier Street, between City Hall Street and Sacré-Coeur Boulevard, as well as the Jos Montferrand building (170, rue de l'Hôtel-de-Ville).
This advisory, which will remain in effect until it is lifted, was issued due to a water main break that occurred in front of the Maison du Citoyen (25, rue Laurier) on September 16, 2025. The necessary repairs have been completed. Water service is being restored gradually.
Quick facts
If you're in the boil water advisory area: – You must boil your water for one minute before consuming it and continue to do so until the city lifts the advisory.
Once the boil water advisory has been lifted: – Open all cold water taps and let the water run for one minute, or until it turns cold, before using it. – Follow the same procedure for water fountains. – Discard any ice made with water while the advisory was in effect.
