Work on the water supply system: Prepare for a preventive boil water advisory in the Buckingham sector
Gatineau, September 6, 2023. – Ville de Gatineau advises the public that a preventive boil water advisory will be in effect as of midnight on September 7 (in the night of Wednesday to Thursday), in the Buckingham sector. A drop in water pressure or an interruption in the water supply could also occur during this period. This measure is being taken as part of work on the water supply system.

The water supply is expected to return to normal on the morning of September 7. - The preventive boil water advisory will remain in effect until further notice. - The public will be notified when the notice is lifted.

This advisory is directed at homes located in the Buckingham sector identified in the map at the end of this news release.

The following tips will help in dealing with a drop in water pressure or an interruption in the water supply: – Store one or more bottles of water in the fridge for consumption (cooking, drinking, pets, etc.). – Fill the bathtub to top up the toilet tank. – During the interruption, avoid using hot water to ensure that some of the elements in the water heater do not overheat if it empties.
