STREET CLOSURES DUE TO INFRASTRUCTURE AND REVITALIZATION WORK ON RUE MONTCALM

Gatineau, May 2, 2011. – Ville de Gatineau would like to inform the public that street closures will be required as a result of the infrastructure and revitalization work on rue Montcalm (Hull sector).

Rue Montcalm will be closed to all but local traffic between Papineau and Wright from May 3 until the end of August. In addition, rue Papineau will be closed between Montcalm and Morin on May 3 for approximately one month.

The projected work requires full closure of the lanes on the streets in question. Only local traffic will be permitted, according to the status of the work and excavations. Car, truck and STO bus traffic will be detoured through adjacent streets. Drivers are asked to comply with the temporary signage to avoid the construction area.

The detours and information about the work are posted on the municipal Web site at www.gatineau.ca/montcalm.

It should be noted that the timeline for the work on the municipal roads may be revised depending on weather conditions during the construction period.

Gatineau thanks residents for their usual cooperation.

For up-to-the-minute reports on the status of the work, call 3-1-1 or visit www.gatineau.ca/montcalm.
