Lifting of the boil water advisory for a portion of the Gatineau sector

Gatineau, June 21, 2026. – Ville de Gatineau informs residents that the preventive boil water advisory in effect since June 19 for a portion of the Gatineau sector has been lifted.


Quick Facts

  • Residents affected should turn on all taps and let the water run for one minute or until it gets cold before using it. The same procedure should be followed for drinking fountains and any ice made during the advisory period should be discarded.
  • Periods of low pressure may still occur during peak demand hours.
    – Residents in the Gatineau, Hull, and Aylmer sectors are therefore still asked to reduce their water consumption, particularly during morning and evening peak periods.
  • Rue Saint-Louis remains closed until further notice between Boulevard de la Cité and Boulevard Maloney Ouest.
    – The detour remains in effect via Boulevard de la Cité and Boulevard Maloney.
    – Motorists are advised to follow posted signage and plan their travel accordingly.
