Water Main Break: Request to Reduce Drinking Water Consumption in Gatineau, Hull and Aylmer Sectors

Gatineau, June 20, 2026. – Due to a water main break that occurred yesterday on rue Saint-Louis, reduced water pressure and/or brief service interruptions may be experienced in the Gatineau, Hull and Aylmer sectors.

Residents in these sectors are asked to reduce their water usage, particularly during peak hours in the morning and evening.

City crews are working diligently to restore normal service as quickly as possible.


Reduction of Drinking Water Consumption

  • Residents are encouraged to limit activities such as laundry, dishwasher use, watering lawns, washing vehicles and filling pools until further notice.
  • To ensure a stable and consistent supply of drinking water for all residents, public cooperation is essential.
