Preventive boil water advisory in the Aylmer sector

Gatineau, March 6th, 2024. – Gatineau is issuing a preventive boil water advisory for a part of Aylmer sector. Residents are asked to boil their water for one minute before consuming it, until further notice. This measure has been taken following a failure of electrical equipment during weekly maintenance.

If you are in the area affected by the preventive boil water advisory

  • Affected individuals and establishments will be required to boil their water for one minute before consumption until the advisory is lifted.
  • After the preventive boil water advisory is lifted, you will need to:
    – Open all cold water faucets and let the water run for one minute or until it becomes cold before using it. The same should be done for water fountains;
    – Discard any ice that was made with the water while the advisory was in effect;
