Gatineau, October 27 2013. – For the October 27, 2013 advance poll that took place today, 13,124 electors exercised their right to vote. This number represents a 6.94% participation rate, whereas for the last election, in 2009, 13,602 electors took advantage of the advance poll option, which represents 7.52% of the total of electors.

Anyone who is unable to vote on November 3 can still vote in the offices of the returning officer. This option, which started on October 25, will remain available: Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., as well as Wednesday, October 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Maison du citoyen, 25 rue Laurier, salle Lafontaine, 1st floor.

Electors are being asked to elect a municipal councillor for their electoral district and a mayor. In total, 189,036 residents are eligible to vote in this election, which is 8,259 more than in 2009.
