Boil water advisory for a portion of the Gatineau sector
Gatineau, June 19, 2026. – Due to a water main break on rue Saint-Louis, the Ville de Gatineau advises that a preventive boil water advisory is in effect for a portion of the Gatineau sector. The affected area includes about 45 000 residents.
It is also possible to observe a drop in pressure or a yellowish discoloration of the water.
Quick Facts
Residents in the area affected by the boil water advisory must boil their water for one minute before consuming it, until the advisory is lifted.
Once the boil water advisory is lifted, residents will be required to: – Open all cold-water taps and let the water run for one minute, or until it becomes cold, before using it; – Follow the same procedure for water fountains; – Discard any ice made with water while the advisory was in effect.

Rue Saint-Louis is closed between Boulevard de la Cité and Boulevard Maloney West for repairs.
A detour is in place via Boulevard de la Cité and Boulevard Maloney. Motorists are asked to follow the posted signs.
