Preventive boil advisory for part of the Gatineau sector

Gatineau, August 2, 2019. - Ville de Gatineau is issuing a preventive boil water advisory for part of the Gatineau sector. This is further to a power outage that affected the water treatment plant in the Gatineau sector. This advisory concerns more than 33,000 homes, and is now in effect until further notice.


Quick facts

Affected residents and institutions will have to boil their water for one minute before consuming it and this, until the advisory is lifted.
Once the boil water advisory has been lifted:
- Open all cold water taps and let the water run for one minute or until it gets cold before consuming it, and follow the same procedure for water fountains;
- Discard any ice that was made with tap water while the preventive boil water advisory was in effect.
