Gatineau, October 30, 2013. – For today's voting in the offices of the returning officer, which ended at 2 p.m., 1660 electors exercised their right to vote. This number represents a 0,88% participation rate.

Combining these electors and those who turned out for the advance poll last Sunday, that is to say the number of electors who have voted to date comes to 14,784, which is near 8% of registered electors.

It should be noted that this is the first time that Gatineau has arranged for voting in the offices of the returning officer. This voting was spread over four days, that is to say October 25, 28, 29 and 30, 2013. The goal was to boost residents' participation in the municipal election.

In total, 189,036 Gatineau residents are eligible to vote in this election.

The municipal election will be taking place on Sunday, November 3, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For additional information on this, visit www.gatineau.ca/election or call 819-931-2900.
