Flood update for May 11

Gatineau, May 11, 2023. – Water levels are still dropping, and municipal crews are continuing preparations for the restoration. Gatineau reminds shoreline property owners to remain vigilant and to keep their protective barriers in place until further notice.

Quick facts

●	Local traffic is now permitted on most streets. Consult the interactive map at gatineau.ca/crue for the latest on the roads.

●

Certain streets are still too flooded for residual materials collections. The May 12 collection for the following streets is being modified: Jacques-Cartier, Montgolfière, Prince-Albert, Saint-Louis between autoroute 50 and rue Moreau, Ernest-Charron, Saint-François-Xavier, Blais, Corriveau, René, Oscar and Adélard. ●	Once flood waters have completely receded from their properties, owners should check the integrity of their well equipment, in particular the electrical circuit, to make sure the water is safe to drink. For details, go to gatineau.ca/puits.

●	Residents who require an attestation of property flooding for their employer or insurer can submit a request at this evening's information session or by calling 311. Gatineau also invites them to call 311 with any other questions.

●	To date, 784 people have registered with Gatineau. Of those, 145 are in the care of the Red Cross and are being housed in hotels.
