Gatineau, June 21, 2012. – Gatineau would like to notify its residents that the Ottawa International Airport administration has undertaken work on some of its runways. Flight schedules are being changed for the duration of this work. This means that communities to the east and west of the airport will notice a temporary reduction in noise levels, whereas those to the north and south will notice an increase. The work should be completed by early September.
Gatineau residents, particularly those in the Aylmer sector, may notice higher air traffic noise volumes. For additional information, please consult the Ottawa International Airport Web site at www.ottawa-airport.ca. News releases will be posted periodically to inform the public about the progress of the work.
