Orange Freezing Rain Warning - Service Impacts and Facility Access
Gatineau, March 10, 2026. - La Ville de Gatineau is closely monitoring weather forecasts ahead of the freezing rain event expected tomorrow. Forecast accumulations are becoming clearer, ranging from 15 to 20 mm depending on the sector, with the most critical period now expected between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Winds of up to 60 km/h are also expected Wednesday evening, which could increase the risk of power outages as branches will be coated with ice. Residents are encouraged to prepare now so they can remain self-sufficient at home for at least 72 hours.
Gatineau is implementing certain preventive measures, including the cancellation of activities and the closure of some municipal facilities for March 11. The situation will be reassessed during the day tomorrow.
Municipal buildings

All cultural and recreation programming activities including drop-in activities scheduled for tomorrow are cancelled

Libraries, as well as the Maison de la culture, will also be closed.

Service centres will remain open for in-person services: – Centre de services de Hull (775 de la Carrière Boulevard) – Centre de services de Gatineau (144 de l'Hôpital Boulevard) – Centre de services de Masson-Angers (57 Montréal East Road)
Waste and recycling

Scheduled garbage and recycling collections will proceed, although delays may occur. – Residents are therefore asked to leave their bins in their driveways, within the limits of their property, until they are collected.
