Boil water advisory for a portion of the Buckingham sector

Gatineau, April 29, 2026. – Due to an unexpected drop in water pressure related to road works on rue Joseph, a preventive boil water advisory is in effect for a portion of the Buckingham sector. The affected area includes approximately 4,200 residents.


Quick Facts

  • Residents in the area affected by the preventive boil water advisory must boil their water for one minute before consuming it, until the advisory is lifted.

    The affected area is located between:
    – East of the Guy-lafleur highway
    – South of rue Church
    – West of rues Laframboise and Brewer
    – North of rue Belter.
  • Once the preventive boil water advisory is lifted, residents will be required to:
    – Open all cold-water taps and let the water run for one minute, or until it becomes cold, before using it;
    – Follow the same procedure for water fountains;
    – Discard any ice made with water while the advisory was in effect.
