Spring flooding: Gatineau opens a centre for displaced residents

Gatineau, April 21, 2017. – Gatineau has opened a centre for displaced residents at the Jean-René-Monette community centre (89 rue Jean-René-Monette). Residents living between 925 and 1463 boulevard Hurtubise who indicated that they need to relocate should report in at the centre.

Quick facts

●	Municipal employees will be on hand to take down their contact information and where they can be reached over the next few days.

●	The Red Cross is ready to collaborate and to help as required: - Where necessary, it will look after residents who have been displaced (accommodations, food, clothing and emotional support).

●	It should be noted that at this point all evacuations are being done on a voluntary basis because there is no imminent safety risk.

●	Concerned residents can call 311 if they need help getting out of their homes. In case of an emergency, they should call 911.

●	Residents should consult the municipal Web site for the latest updates. That site is updated as soon as new information comes in.
