Spring flooding: Gatineau opens a centre for displaced residents
Gatineau, April 21, 2017. – Gatineau has opened a centre for displaced residents at the Jean-René-Monette community centre (89 rue Jean-René-Monette). Residents living between 925 and 1463 boulevard Hurtubise who indicated that they need to relocate should report in at the centre.

Municipal employees will be on hand to take down their contact information and where they can be reached over the next few days.

The Red Cross is ready to collaborate and to help as required: - Where necessary, it will look after residents who have been displaced (accommodations, food, clothing and emotional support).

It should be noted that at this point all evacuations are being done on a voluntary basis because there is no imminent safety risk.

Concerned residents can call 311 if they need help getting out of their homes. In case of an emergency, they should call 911.
●
Residents should consult the municipal Web site for the latest updates. That site is updated as soon as new information comes in.
