Water Supply Interruption and Preventive Boil Water Advisory in a Portion of the Gatineau Sector

Gatineau, July 10, 2025. – Ville de Gatineau would like to announce a water supply interruption for a portion of the Gatineau sector (see perimeter image below). A preventative boil water advisory is now in effect for nearly 570 homes in the Gatineau sector. This advisory has been issued due to emergency work on the water main. The advisory will remain in effect until further notice.


Quick facts

  • If you're in the boil water advisory area:
    – You must boil your water for one minute before consuming it and continue to do so until the city lifts the advisory.
  • Once the boil water advisory has been lifted:
    – Open all cold water taps and let the water run for one minute, or until it turns cold, before using it.
    – Follow the same procedure for water fountains.
    – Discard any ice made with water while the advisory was in effect.
