RUE MONTCALM REOPENING TO TRAFFIC
Gatineau, September 6, 2011. – Ville de Gatineau would like to inform the public that phase 1 of the work (municipal utility and road repairs) on rue Montcalm, between rue Papineau and boulevard Alexandre-Taché, will be completed today.
As a result, rue Montcalm will reopen tomorrow, which will restore full traffic and access to businesses and homes between rue Papineau and boulevard Alexandre-Taché.
Please note that starting tomorrow, one-way traffic will be restored on rue Wright between rue Montcalm and rue Saint-Rédempteur.
The work on rue Montcalm is being done in two phases:
• phase 1: municipal utility and road repairs; and
• phase 2: urban landscaping, sidewalks and lighting.
So far, the work is on schedule overall. The work on phase 1 started on April 26 and ends today. The work on phase 2 will begin next week and should end in the late fall of 2011. Please note that the timeframes may be revised because of the weather.
