Watermain break under boulevard Lorrain – Preventive boil water advisory for part of the Bellevue district

Gatineau, April 23, 2020. –Ville de Gatineau is issuing a preventive boil water advisory for part of the Bellevue district. This advisory comes on the heels of a watermain break under boulevard Lorrain at the intersection of rue des Pommetiers. This advisory applies to approximately 200 homes.

Municipal crews are on the scene working to restore the situation as quickly as possible. Residents are asked to boil their tap water for one minute before consuming it, until further notice.

  • The perimeter affected by this advisory is as follows:
    - Boulevard Lorrain at the level of rue Croteau
    - to the east of rue des Hêtres
    - to the north of autoroute 50
  • Affected individuals and establishments must boil their water for one minute before consuming it, until the advisory is lifted.
  • After the preventive boil water advisory is lifted:
    - open all cold water taps and let them run for one minute or until the water runs cold, before using it (follow the same procedure with water fountains); and
    - discard any ice made with tap water during this preventive advisory.
