Freezing Rain Event Update - March 11, 2026

Gatineau, March 11, 2026. – La Ville de Gatineau continues to closely monitor the freezing rain event. Municipal crews are mobilized and ready to respond as needed. Additional accumulations of approximately 8 to 9 mm of freezing rain are expected in some areas this evening between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., accompanied by winds that could reach up to 60 km/h.

Caution remains advised over the next few hours. Residents are encouraged to limit travel and be prepared for possible power outages.

With the situation under control, all cultural and recreational programming, including drop-in activities, are expected to resume tomorrow according to the regular schedule. Municipal buildings, including libraries and ecocentres, will also reopen.
