Gatineau, June 20, 2012. – Gatineau would like to inform the public that rue Saint-Louis, between boulevard Maloney Ouest and boulevard de la Cité/rue Jacques-Cartier, is once again open to traffic. The work went smoothly, and the impact on the affected perimeter was small thanks to the cooperation of residents who followed instructions.
Boil water advisory still in effect in the targeted perimeter
Everyone living within the targeted perimeter, that is to say between montée Paiement and montée Mineault, and between the city's northern boundary and the Ottawa River, must continue to boil their tap water for at least one minute before consuming it, and this until further notice. The municipality will notify the public once the advisory has been lifted. Please note that anyone living on montée Paiement and montée Mineault is excluded from the targeted perimeter.
Watering ban in effect for the Gatineau sector
The ban against the outside use of drinking water (filling pools, washing cars, manual watering, etc.) remains in effect in the Gatineau sector until midnight tonight. However, this ban is now lifted for the Buckingham and Masson-Angers sectors.
Gatineau wants to thank residents for their understanding and cooperation, and asks that they continue to limit their use of water during the heat wave.
