GRAND PRIX CYCLISTE GATINEAU 2011: TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES
Gatineau, May 13, 2011. – Gatineau would like to inform residents of the following upcoming temporary road closures due to the 8th edition of the Grand Prix cycliste Gatineau (formerly La Grande Visite de Gatineau), from May 19 to 22, 2011:
• boulevard des Allumettières, promenade de la Gatineau, rue Gamelin and promenade du Lac-des-Fées on Thursday, May 19, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.;
• boulevard des Allumettières, promenade de la Gatineau, rue Gamelin and promenade du Lac-des-Fées on Saturday, May 21, 2011, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and
• boulevard des Allumettières, promenade de la Gatineau, rue Gamelin and promenade du Lac-des-Fées on Sunday, May 22, 2011, from 6 a.m. to noon.
The Grand Prix cycliste Gatineau will also use other streets, which will then have to be closed, but only for a matter of minutes. For the routes and detours for this event, please check www.gatineau.ca/festivals.
Barricades will be installed at the appropriate locations, and police monitoring will be in effect.
The Grand Prix cycliste Gatineau is the largest cycling event in the Outaouais. This popular family outing also includes a host of sports activities, and a chance to get close to international calibre athletes and see them perform.
