RESIDENTS IN THE BUCKINGHAM AND MASSON-ANGERS SECTORS ARE ASKED TO REDUCE THEIR USE OF TAP WATER

Gatineau, March 1st, 2013. – Gatineau is asking residents in the Buckingham and Masson-Angers sectors to reduce their use of tap water during peak hours in March because of the work being done on the Buckingham sector water treatment plant.

Gatineau asks that residents in these sectors collaborate by reducing their use of tap water from March 4 to 30, between 5 and 8 a.m. as well as between 5 and 8 p.m., Mondays to Fridays. If everybody does their share during these hours, which correspond to the peak hours of use of tap water, there will be enough water to cover basic needs (meal preparation, personal hygiene, etc.). Washing machines and dishwashers should ideally only be used at other times of the day or night.

The work being done involves upgrading the drinking water reservoir. This is the preliminary stage in the expansion and modernization work that will begin in the spring of 2013, and that is expected to be spread out over a two-year period.

Gatineau would like to thank residents for their collaboration.
