Gatineau, March 19, 2014. – Since 2009, the ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) has been mapping potential landslide zones in Gatineau.
Further to their findings, and even though the risk is not imminent, Gatineau has decided to conduct preventive work by laying down rock to stabilize the area between du Pinot and de Saint-Émilion in the winter of 2015.
Gatineau will be doing this work under the purview of the government of Quebec's financial and technical support program entitled Cadre pour la prévention de sinistres (2013-2020).
In order to ensure that residents in this area have all the information they need about this matter, Gatineau will hold an information evening on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Experts from Quebec's ministère de la Sécurité publique and ministère des Transports will be on hand to make a presentation.
