Gatineau, June 22, 2012. – Gatineau would like to inform residents that the boil water advisory in the Gatineau sector, announced on June 18, is partially lifted (see attached map).

Boil water advisory lifted

The situation is back to normal for residents in north of boulevard de La Vérendrye between Montée Paiement and boulevard Labrosse.

Analyses of the samples taken indicate that the water is drinkable, and in every regard meets current quality standards.

This means that residents must:

• open all the cold water taps and let the water run for at least one minute, or until it gets cold, before consuming it;

• purge the outdoor taps, such as those connected to hoses; and

• discard any ice made with tap water taken while the boil water advisory was in effect.

Boil water advisory maintained

It is important to note that the boil water advisory remains in effect for all other residents within the perimeter, until further notice.

Gatineau is well aware of the inconveniences, and wants to thank residents for their understanding and usual cooperation.
