NEW AT THE SNOWFLAKE KINGDOM FOR WINTERLUDE 2013!
Gatineau, December 11, 2012. – Gatineau is pleased this year to once again collaborate with the National Capital Commission (NCC) on Winterlude, which will run from February 1, to 18, 2013.
The Snowflake Kingdom at parc Jacques-Cartier will feature plenty of activities for the whole family.
"Winterlude provides an exceptional showcase for Gatineau, what with more than 200,000 visitors showing up every year to play at the Snowflake Kingdom at parc Jacques-Cartier. For this 35th edition of the best winter party in the country, Gatineau will invest $530,000 in preparing the biggest winter playground on the continent! I thank the many volunteers and partners who help to make this big party such as success," noted Gatineau Mayor Marc Bureau.
There will be lots of new activities at this event, including a huge zipline! The Xtreme Zone will also feature different winter sport demonstrations.
Naturally, there will once again be hills you can slide down with or without inner tubes, although some of them will have new exhilarating runs! And for the fans of the ephemeral arts, there will be lots of works by snow sculpting masters.
And finally, Gatineau is proud to offer a dazzling artistic program for Winterlude, spread out among its five theatres and at galerie Montcalm.
