Gatineau, April 3, 2014. – Gatineau will be doing some upgrading on the Hull sector water treatment plant on Friday, April 4 and Friday, April 11. As a result of this work, a boil water advisory will be in effect for the entire Hull sector starting at 8:30 p.m. on those days, until further notice. Affected residents and institutions will have to boil their water for one minute before consuming it, until the boil water advisory is lifted.
The work will involve replacing two treated water flow meters at the exit from the plant. This work will take place over two weekends, starting at 8:30 p.m. and through the night from Friday, April 4 to Saturday, April 5, and from Friday, April 11 to Saturday, April 12.
While this work is underway, affected residents and institutions may observe a drop in pressure, and possibly a temporary interruption in the water supply.
Gatineau will inform affected residents as soon as each of the two advisories has been lifted following confirmation through regulatory tests.
Once the boil water advisory has been lifted, the affected residents will have to:
• open all cold water taps and let the water run for one minute or until it is cold before using it, and do the same with the water fountains; and
• throw out any ice that was made while the boil water advisory was in effect.
Gatineau thanks residents for their usual cooperation.
