Gatineau, December 4, 2013. – Gatineau is pleased to be involved in the 36th edition of the Gatineau Loppet, an international cross-country ski competition that will run from February 14 to 16, 2014.
"This year once again, Gatineau is proud to lend a hand to the biggest cross-country ski event in Canada, with an investment of close to $65,000 in money and services. Congratulations and thank you to all those who are contributing directly or indirectly to the success of this annual gathering of cross-country ski fans," indicated Gatineau Mayor Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin.
The Gatineau Loppet brings together thousands of recreational and international calibre skiers for the 2, 5, 10, 15, 27 and 51 km trails through Gatineau Park. A number of family activities will be available for all ages: the Ski Show, the mini race for the kids, the giant ski competition, entertainment and, new this year, a snowshoe race.
Remember that in 2013, the 35th edition attracted 2,282 participants from 17 countries.
