Gatineau, March 13 2015. – Ville de Gatineau is issuing a preventive boil water advisory for a part of the Gatineau sector due to a watermain break.

Water could be interrupted during the repair process, for the following streets (inclosed map):

If you are in the affected area

Affected residents and institutions will have to boil their water for one minute before consuming it, until the boil water advisory is lifted.

Please note that the boil water advisory only concerns water that is to be consumed or used for brushing teeth. The tap water can safely be used as is for baths, showers, laundry and doing dishes.

Once the boil water advisory is lifted

Once the boil water advisory has been lifted, the affected residents will have to:

• open all cold water taps and let the water run for one minute
• or until it is cold before using it, and do the same with the water fountains; and
• throw out any ice that was made while the boil water advisory was in effect.
