Water supply restored following water main break on rue St-Louis
Gatineau, September 23, 2016 - Ville de Gatineau is notifying the public that the water supply has been restored throughout the Gatineau sector. The preventive boil water advisory remains in effect for the entire sector. Rue Saint-Louis is now open again to traffic from rue Jacques-Cartier to boulevard Maloney Ouest.
Residents responded to the call by reducing their use of water, which helped crews with their work.
The water volume in the Gatineau sector is gradually returning to normal.
However, residents may notice a drop in pressure.
The situation will gradually return to normal over the next few hours.
Residents who have been deprived of water are asked to run their taps for one minute to release any air trapped in the pipes.
Impact on traffic
Rue Saint-Louis is now open again to traffic from rue Jacques-Cartier to boulevard Maloney Ouest.
Boil Water Advisory
A preventive boil water advisory has been in effect throughout the Gatineau sector since 9 p.m. yesterday.
Affected residents were directly notified by phone.
Residents and establishments in the sector must boil water for one minute before consuming it until the advisory is lifted.
Ville de Gatineau will notify the public as soon as the notice is lifted.
