This year, once again, Winterlude's Snowflake Kingdom managed to captivate young families!

Gatineau, February 17, 2019. – Festival-goers have until 5 p.m. tomorrow to get their fill of the site. Thanks to the exceptional conditions and several new features, the 2019 edition of the Snowflake Kingdom has been a hit so far.

Highlights of the 41st edition of Winterlude at the Snowflake Kingdom

The three giant slides (Chinook Tim Hortons, Glacier and Iceberg), with a total of 16 lanes, this year, once again, proved to be the most popular attraction.
More than 5,000 brave souls defied the zip-line, spanning 183 metres (600 feet) in length and hanging 15 metres (48 feet) above ground, stretching over the central sliding area.
Kids and adults had the chance to meet and chat with magician and event spokesperson for the second year running, Gatineau's Daniel Coutu.
Families got to have some fun, all for free, at the Snowflake Kingdom, which was back at its usual site, at Jacques-Cartier Park.
- The Snowflake Kingdom remains the annual winter gathering and highlight for many Gatineau families.
Musical bicycles on the third weekend were one of the new hits at the site!
Kids were thrilled when Canadian skier and Olympic champion Erik Guay dropped by the downhill skiing and snowboarding introduction area.
The video on the Making of the Snowflake Kingdom was tremendously well received in the Refuge.
Several school groups visited and had a great time at this giant playground.
Media representatives came from all around to check out the site.
The Ice Hog family gave out more than 50,000 hugs from February 1 to 18.
Bloggers and influencers came from as far as France and England, among other places, to discover the event.

The Snowflake Kingdom, a snow paradise!

More than 33,000 cubic metres (approximately 2,300 dumpster loads) of snow were made to create this enormous 55,000 square metre winter playground.
Eight sculptors worked a total of 600 hours to create the snow sculptures at the Snowflake Kingdom.
This year, once again, some sixty entertainers and more than 400 volunteers helped enhance the visitor experience.

The Snowflake Kingdom is a co-production by Ville de Gatineau and Canadian Heritage.
The Government of Quebec remains a proud partner of Winterlude's Snowflake Kingdom.

And it's not over yet!

The Snowflake Kingdom will be open until 5 p.m. tomorrow.
It's not too late to take advantage of the slides and the rest of the site one last time.
