Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times. Residents will also have access to their residence at any time.
Every effort will be made to limit the impact on traffic on both sides of the river.
Work currently underway on the Alexandra Bridge and has resulted in the closure of the north lane while work is being done. Work is being done by Public Services and Procurement Canada. The bridge is down to one lane, with the direction of traffic depending on the time of day:
- from 7 to 2 p.m.: Ottawa-bound
- from 2 to 7 p.m.: Gatineau-bound
Gatineau is working with the City of Ottawa, the Société de transport de l'Outaouais, emergency services and Public Services and Procurement Canada.
Please note bus routes may change. Consult www.sto.ca or www.octranspo.com for details.

Highlights:

The total budget for the work is in the order of $2.2 M.
This work will make the downtown more attractive and at the same time make active transportation safer and more popular.
This bike lane project is part of the special planning program for the downtown and the green transportation plan.
It should be noted that Jacques-Cartier Park will be hosting activities for Canada's 150th anniversary celebrations in the summer of 2017. This will result in a temporary closure of the current bike path through the park. The new bike path, extending over approximately 930 metres, will provide the north-south link.
The downtown's revitalization is a priority for the Municipal Council.
Work on city roads may take longer due to poor weather.
Gatineau thanks the public for its usual cooperation.
